Scientists believe that The Goshute Indians migrated with other tribes from the Death Valley region of California to the Great Basin. The Goshutes argue that they have always lived in the region southwest of the Great Salt Lake.
Sometimes the Goshutes would come together to hunt antelpe, deer, rabbits and other small mammals. They used at least 81 different kinds of vegetables and stored nuts and dried meats in order to survive the winter months. They also collected insects, larvae, and small reptiles. They were able to provide for their needs without destroying the limited resources that they had.
